Organizing photos is a real chore, especially since digital cameras have become more accessible. You can take hundreds of pictures, without wasting any film, but you may spend a lot of time trying to sort them. If you are looking for an efficient way of managing your images, you should try ACDSee Pro. The name may sound familiar to experienced users, because the software has been around since the early days of Windows 95. Since then, it has received countless updates, which made it an excellent solution for managing huge image libraries.

ACDSee Pro can be evaluated free of charge for 30 days. The trial version doesn't come with any restrictions or nag screens, so you can test its entire functionality until it expires. The program works on Windows XP and all later editions, up to Windows 8. It asks for 512 MB of RAM and at least 310 MB of free disk space, which should not be a problem for any modern day computer.

You can use ACDSee Pro for a wide range of operations. The software allows you to manage your photos, view, adjust and edit them and back up your libraries on the cloud, on the same user interface, but on separate tabs. The photo management section is laid out like an explorer window, but it presents more options. Besides exploring your local folders and previewing their contents, you can also tag and rate your pictures, assign color labels and filter them by various criteria, by camera settings, authors and much more.

Options for tagging images, rating, filtering and so on can be found on the right side of the interface, where you can also create categories and populate them with pictures. Other options can be found in a series of menus, on the top portion of the window. You can use them to import images from different sources, like removable drives, mobile phones and other devices. It is also possible to perform batch operations, create slideshows, HTML albums, CDs or DVDs, send images over the Internet and much more.

If you wish to adjust one or more images, you can manipulate their contrast, saturation, white balance, tone curves and more. The software's editing section is the place where you can remove red eye effects, add watermarks, change a picture's orientation settings, apply effects and perform other actions. To back up your photos, you may create an online account, on a different tab and upload your libraries to the cloud. With a free account, you will have 2 GB of storage space. Once you upload your images, you can share them on Facebook and Twitter or invite friends or clients to view them.

Pros

ACDSee Pro places numerous options at your disposal, for organizing images. You can also adjust your pictures and edit them. Additionally, the software allows you to upload your photos to the cloud and share them.

Cons

Besides the limited trial period, there are no drawbacks to mention. Flexible management options, powerful editing features and a reliable backup solution for your images, all these are just a few advantages which you can expect from ACDSee Pro.
